Was Paul Simon prophetic when he wrote “Boy in the Bubble?” There you are in a village in Lesotho, observing an amazing human-made astronomical phenomenon. And its source is discovered using the internet, a technology still in its relative infancy. This is “an age of miracle and wonder.” Thanks for sharing it with us Oscar.

Wind was pretty calm that night, so I can’t remember a specific direction. Prevailing winds are from the NW, so 90% of the time that’s what it would be.

Ade- it definitely did not look like a cloud. The thing in the middle looked like a star or planet, oscillating in brightness. Tiny, though.

I think we can safely rule out astronomical phenomena based on the direction of movement. When I have more time (maybe this weekend), I’ll see if I can find anything. Do you remember the wind direction that night?

Maybe you are not going crazy. I shared your blog with my friend and this is what she sent to me (I have her permission to post it):

“Kewl! I was just telling someone about a UFO I saw with my friend, Jen last year. Not a flying saucer, but an unidentified light in the sky. It was falling towards earth, over the ocean, but moving reeeeeealllly sloooooowly. I thought, “space shuttle landing?” but there was nothing about it in the news. I still don’t know what it was. I wish I remembered exactly when it happened! I think it was around this time last year, though.”

Oscar, What was it you saw? Was it a light, or was it like a cloud? Just curious.
